    International Collaborations

The international presence of Psychology has continued to grow. Distinguished Professor Dr. Chow Lam has partnered with Beijing Normal University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hong Kong Polytechnic and Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Science to develop programs in rehabilitation counseling. There is tremendous need for rehabilitation programs in China where the population of disabled people numbers over 60 million. A formal Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Chinese Academy of Sciences for research and curricular collaboration.

In addition Dr. Patrick Corrigan and Dr. Jonathan Larson continue to travel to such places as Beijing, Hong Kong, Ireland and Australia, extending the reach of IIT Rehabilitation Counseling. Similarly, Dr. Ayman presents on I/O topics including work family balance and leadership in international arenas in Spain, Mexico, Greece, China Luxembourg, and the UK for the past decade. Dr. Lam, who retired in 2011, will help to assure our ongoing relationship with China in the future by building mechanisms for research and student exchange.
