Rowine H. Brown

Humanitarian in medicine and the law. Brown significantly advanced a humanitarian approach to medical treatment in hospitals and to the rule of law in society. As medical director and chief of staff at a major U.S. hospital (Cook County), she pioneered important advances in medicine, law, and the interaction of the two, particularly in the area of child abuse.
