Biotechnology II, PLED 519

    About this Course:
    This course is designed for secondary level science teachers.  Participants may elect to receive three (3) graduate credit hours from the Center for Professional Development of Illinois Institute of Technology in cooperation with the Department of Mathematics and Science Education.

    Biotechnology II (PLED 519) and Biotechnology III (PLED 529) are sequel courses to Biotechnology I (PLED 509). Each of the courses covers different topics for teaching Biotechnology at the secondary source level.

    Prerequisites:
    Certified 6 - 12 science teachers.

    Who Should Attend:
    Secondary level science teachers.

    Expected Outcomes:
    Participants will learn biotechnology science content that is aligned with the National Science Education Standards for students in grades 6 - 12; learn pedagogical approaches to teach biotechnology to students in grades 6 - 12 classrooms.

    Course Details:
    Instructional activities developed by IIT faculty will be provided.? Additional handouts will be distributed.
