International IT/Business/Civil, Architectural, and Environmental (CAE) Engineering Certificate Program

    Course Abstract

Illinois Institute of Technology offers a one-semester International IT/Business/Civil, Architectural, and Environmental (CAE) Engineering Certificate Program. The program has one main component:

    1. Students take four courses in Information Technology, Business or CAE Engineering.

Students who successfully complete this program will receive an IT/Business/CAE Certificate from the Professional Learning Programs at IIT. Many IT and CAE courses completed in the International program can be credited toward a Graduate degree upon acceptance into the ITM program.

CAE, Business, and Information Technology Courses

CAE, Business and IT courses are offered in the day and evening at our Main Campus in Chicago. Many IT courses are taught in a lab environment so that students are given the opportunity to work in a lab environment. This allows international students the chance to be comfortable with the technology while in the classroom with the instructor on hand to answer questions.

When possible, international students will study alongside American students. International students will also have the chance to make friends with American students that could last a lifetime and be useful for future business contacts. Examples of courses offered include: Dynamics of Structures, Systems Analysis in Civil engineering, Urban Transportation planning, Hazardous Waste engineering, Embedded Systems, Multimedia, Wireless Applications, Oracle, UNIX, .NET, Network Security, Project Management, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Marketing and many more.

    Program Dates

All one-semester programs start in the Fall or Spring semesters and consist of 16 weeks of classes. The fall semester starts in late August and ends in mid-December. Spring courses start in the middle of January and end in early May. The one-semester program is not available for the Summer semester.

    Program Costs

Tuition for one semester of study is $8,400. Books, housing, transportation and insurance fees are not included.

Room and board: Housing on IIT’s main campus is limited. When available, students may live in the dorms at the McCormick Student Village (MSV). All dorms consist of a double occupancy room and a meal plan with 14 meals per week at the IIT cafeteria.
