    Applied Mathematics IPRO 330

Part of the undergraduate experience at IIT is the participation in an Interprofessional Project (IPRO) team, where students and faculty from various departments and majors come together to solve real-world problems. Each team of 4-8 students tackles an idea, and presents a solution to the campus at the end of every semester.

During the 2006-2007 academic year, Applied Mathematics students Tony Parrillo and Mike McCourt developed an idea for a website to foster interest in math and science among Chicago Public Schools students. The website, Science Fair Extravaganza, features Guides and Projects that have been praised by many people in the Chicago Public School system. The Spring 2008 class is working hard at improving the website, collaborating with like-minded projects elsewhere, and talking with CPS teachers and students about how we can help.
