Raicu Co-Chairs DataCloud2011 and ScienceCloud2011 Workshops

Assistant Professor Ioan Raicu was co-chair of the 1st IEEE Workshop on Data Intensive Computing in the Clouds (DataCloud) 2011, along with Dr. Tevfik Kosar from the University at Buffalo. The workshop was part of the prestigious IEEE IPDPS 2011 conference and took place on May 16th in Anchorage, Alaska. The workshop program attracted more than 60 attendees and consisted of a keynote talk by Dr. Ian Foster (from the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory) and 11 excellent research papers selected from 24 submissions. Professor Raicu was also co-chair of the 2nd ACM Workshop on Scientific Cloud Computing (ScienceCloud) 2011, along with Dr. Ian Foster and Dr. Pete Beckman, both from the University at Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory. The workshop was part of the prestigious ACM HPDC 2011 conference and took place on June 8th in San Jose California. The workshop program attracted more than 50 attendees and consisted of a keynote talk by Dr. Ion Stoica (from the University of California at Berkeley) and 8 excellent research papers selected from 17 submissions.
