Alumna Berry To Receive 2012 Women in Technology Leadership Award
Alumna Andrea Berry (CS ’84) received the 2012 Women in Technology Leadership Award from TVNewsCheck at a ceremony on Tuesday, April 17 in Las Vegas. She is senior vice president of media services at Fox Network Engineering and Operations.
"Andrea Berry represents a stellar example of how women leaders are changing the face of technology," said NewsCheckMedia co-founder and publisher Kathy Haley. "Not only has she built a distinguished career in media technology, but she also serves in leadership roles on the Alumni Board of the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Young Ambassadors Leadership Academy and the San Fernando Valley Chapter of Jack and Jill. We could not be more excited to have Ms. Berry as our 2012 Women in Technology Leadership Award honoree."
In addition to the alumni board, Berry is a member of the IIT Board of Trustees and the College of Science and Letters Board of Overseers, and she helped to formalize the IIT African-American Alumni Association. Berry won an IIT Alumni Award for Professional Achievement in 2010 and delivered the IIT commencement address that spring.
