    Department of Biomedical Engineering
    As a leader in biomedical engineering research and education, IIT prepares students for leadership positions in some of today's most promising and challenging careers in industry, medicine and research. IIT offers a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering. Both programs enable students to select an area of specialization.

    The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering stems from one of the nation's oldest chemical engineering departments. It strives to offer undergraduate and graduate students with exemplary education and research opportunities at the forefront of technology. ChBE’s faculty members are committed to fostering the next generation of chemical and biological engineers capable of solving the most complex challenges facing society.

    Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering
    The Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering offers a number of undergraduate and graduate programs across these engineering disciplines.? Programs are designed to prepare students to begin the practice of the profession and for challenges facing civil, architectural and environmental engineers in the 21st century with competitive programs and facilities, such as modern laboratories, state-of-the-art instructional aids and computer equipment.
    Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
    The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is home to state-of-the-art teaching laboratories in which approximately 1000 engineering students and more than 100 Ph.D. candidates explore their areas of study. The department’s annual research budget exceeds $5 million, focusing primarily on energy, sustainability, biomedical engineering, computer architecture, and networks. ECE’s Perfect Power project to convert IIT Main Campus’ energy system into a greener, more efficient smart grid, is a major contributor to the IIT sustainability plan.

    The Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering Department at IIT offers a number of undergraduate and graduate programs in all three areas of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering. The departmemtn continually updates and improves the curriculum to provide an even better education for engineering students.
