Dr. Weber joined IIT as an instructor in 1961. He was promoted to Assistant Professor in 1964 and to Associate Professor in 1968. In 1972 he left IIT to become assistant manager of the Electromagnetics Section of IIT Research Institute. His responsibilities included management of all research on electromagnetic compatibility and nuclear weapons effects on electronic equipment. In 1974 Dr. Weber returned to the IIT electrical engineering department where he served as coordinator of research for the IIT Graduate School. He was appointed to the position of assistant chairman of the ECE Department for IIT's west suburban campus in 1986 and served as Director of the IIT Rice Campus in Wheaton, Illinois from 1987-1997.
Dr. Weber's research interests are in the area of interaction of electromagnetic fields with electronic systems and circuits. He has consulted for a number of companies including IITRI, Motorola, and R.R. Donnelley & Sons.
Dr. Weber retired and assumed the position of Professor Emeritus in 1998.
