For Crystal Reynolds, the "small community within a big city" that is IIT is an ideal place to study psychology. Reynolds has made herself at home in that community in a short time, as representative of the College of Psychology in the student Senate, as member of the IIT American Red Cross Club and as Vice President of IIT's Honors Medical Society--all by her third year.
She has long set her sights on a career in psychiatric health care, and the breadth of opportunities in the psychology has put her well on her way. "I love being a part of two very different labs: a psychology lab that does research looking at school-aged children and a biochemistry lab focused on the mammalian extracellular matrix," Reynolds says. "I am able to put into practice skills and information gleaned from both my psychology classes and from my premedical courses."
