IIT Institute of Design has won the Rotman Business Design Challenge for the second consecutive year, hosted by the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management on March 2 and 3. The challenge brings together top talent from leading business schools around the world to solve a business design challenge posed by an innovative and forward-thinking sponsor.
Using creative problem solving techniques and frameworks from both the business and design disciplines, the teams had to develop a solution to a question posed to them by Challenge sponsor, TARGET. The company asked the teams, “How can TARGET leverage its Expect More. Pay Less® brand promise and it’s mantra of “Design for All” to become and be recognized as a leading company in sustainability?”
The ID team, composed of students Thomas Gaskin, Katie Kowaloff, Stephanie Smith and Wojtek Tusz, prevailed over teams from universities across Canada and the US, including second and third place winners, teams from MIT Sloan School of Management and Rotman School of Management, respectively.
