The myIIT portal launched in January 2007 with a Group Studio feature to encourage communication among students, faculty, and staff over common interest areas. With the university’s transition to Google Apps for Education/IIT Gmail, the Group Studio interface in myIIT has been discontinued in favor of Google Groups and Sites.
- All groups in myIIT have been deleted.
- If you were a member of a myIIT group, contact your previous group leader to learn whether a similar group has been recreated in Google.
- Google Groups may be created for student organizations, special interest areas, faculty and staff work groups, and more. There is no approval process or renewal required. Group owners will continue to have control over who can participate in their group.
Your Google Group also takes advantage of all the features of Google Apps for Education, including document sharing, email, Google calendar, and more.
To get started, login to myIIT and click Google Apps for Students or Google Apps for Faculty/Staff. For help creating a Google Group, visit the Google Groups area of the Google Apps at IIT support site. For additional help, contact the OTS Support Desk at email@example.com or 312.567.3375.
