Each year, the International Center at Illinois Institute of Technology solicits IIT faculty, staff, and student families to host one or more international students for Thanksgiving dinner. You may remember being a student and how it felt during the Thanksgiving holiday without the company of family and friends. How wonderful would it be to host an IIT international student at your Thanksgiving dinner? If you live in the Chicago area, here’s your chance!
With more than 3,000 students and scholars from more than 100 countries, there is ample opportunity to extend your family’s hospitality for one evening. Moreover, this is an excellent opportunity for an international student to eat a home-cooked meal, experience an American tradition, and have a relaxing afternoon and evening away from campus.
To sign up to be a host for this cultural exchange program, please sign up here by Sunday, November 11. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Jennifer Sherdan, International Student Advisor and Study Abroad and Cultural Programs Assistant at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will inform you of your match(es) by Wednesday, November 14. Thank you for your generosity and hospitality to our students!
(Note to students: The form for you to sign up to get a host will open by the end of the week.)
