  • IIT Alumna Named First Female Director of Engineering at Chicago Metropolitan Water Reclamation District

    For the first time in its 124-year history, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) has a female director of engineering. The MWRD Board of Commissioners and Executive Director David St. Pierre appointed Bridgeport resident and IIT Armour College of Engineering alumna Catherine A. O'Connor to the post on June 7.

  • Architecture Alum Lily Lim (B.Arch. ’99) Wins AIDS Memorial Park Competition

    Bachelor of architecture alumna Lily Lim’s firm, Studio a+i, won first prize in the international AIDS Memorial Park competition. The proposed park will commemorate the more than 100,000 New Yorkers whose lives were lost to the AIDS epidemic. Studio a+i’s proposal for the Greenwich Village site integrated a birch tree grove with mirrored walls, creating an “Infinite Forest.”
