Getting Started for Summer Orientation
Below is a list to help you to help get started as a new IIT student.
A. Log into your myIIT Account: Your username is the first part of your IIT e-mail address and your initial password is your birth date in the MMDD format and the last 4 digits of your university ID number. Through the portal you will have access to your IIT e-mail, class registration, tuition bill, etc.
B. Register for orientation: After you successfully log into your myIIT account click on the "Academics" tab and scroll down to access the "Undergraduate Affairs Student System." The "Orientation Session RSVP" button will take you to the orientation registration page. The "New Student Advising" button will guide you to your advising and academic registration page. For more information on how to register, please click here.
Formal course registration will be available during your orientation session so research your required courses now and come with any questions you may have. You'll be happy you did.
C. Waive your Health Insurance (if applicable): It is mandatory at IIT that all full-time students living on campus or at home have health insurance. If you have insurance of your own complete the Insurance Waiver. Without this waiver, students will be billed $850 automatically to ensure appropriate insurance coverage. International F1 and J1 Students are not permitted to waive the IIT Student Health Insurance. Click here for more information.
D. Be sure you meet the Immunization Requirements: Learn more about the immunization requirements.
E. Consult with the Financial Aid Office: Submit your FAFSA form and contact the Financial Aid Office with questions.
F. Apply for Housing: New undergraduate students should return the paper room and Board contract included in the offer of admission or online. If you need assistance with your housing contract contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
