• At least one letter
• At least one number
Avoid the following when selecting a password:
• Names of family, friends or co-workers
• Your phone number or license plate number
• Any part of your social security number
• Anyone’s birthdate
• Your username

• Place names or proper nouns
• Simple patterns of letters on the keyboard, like fdsa
Consider these methods of making your password more secure:
Use special characters such as non-alphabetic characters. A simple way to do this is replacing letters in your password with characters such as:
• 'a' with * (avoid using the @ symbol)
• 's' with $
• any space with %
• 'o' with 0
• 'i' with !
Create a pseudo random password
1. Identify a phrase you will remember such as:
"I like to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches"
2. Abbreviate the first letter of each word: iltepbajs
3. Replace some letters with numbers/symbols: il2epb&j$
