Bing Qie
Master of Industrial Technology and Operations
When seeking opportunities for further education abroad in 2005, Bing Qie of Qingdao, China, came across the IIT Industrial Technology and Management (INTM) Program's long-distance learning partnership with the Chinese supply-chain company SITC Maritime. Using IIT Online to broadcast to three cities in China, the lecture series in Industrial Logistics made an impression on Qie, who quickly applied to the master's program in Industrial Technology and Operations (MITO).
He has made himself at home in Chicago, which reminds him of Qingdao in many ways, excelling in his classes and becoming active in the Midwest Entrepreneurs' Forum, which holds frequent events at the IIT Rice Campus. Touched by the personal relationships in the program, and engaged by the hands-on experiential approach, Qie hopes to use the knowledge and experience he has gained here to start his own logistics business back home.
