IIT/Chicago Kent 3+3 B.S. to J.D. Program
Eligibility for the Program
Students applying to the program must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.0 in high school to be eligible for admission to the 3+3 program. Students must make satisfactory academic progress at IIT to remain in the program. They must also meet the minimum requirements for Kent School of Law.
Application Process
Admittance to the program is through the undergraduate programs of the Department of Political Science and the College of Psychology. Students admitted to the program complete the requirements of their respective undergraduate programs in three years. Students who successfully meet the minimum GPA and LSAT standards are granted automatic admission to the Kent School of Law. To be considered for the program, complete the undergraduate admission application and check the Honors Law option.
Academic Program Requirements
Students admitted to the program complete the requirements of their respective undergraduate programs in three years. Students are awarded their B.S. in psychology or political science after successfully completing their fourth year of study. The course work during the fourth year serves as the final year of the B.S. program and the first year of the J.D. program.
Graduation Requirements
Students enrolled in the 3+3 must follow the IIT Undergraduate Catalog to satisfy requirements for the B.S. Degree and the requirements set out in the Kent School of Law Bulletin for the J.D. Degree.
