This is a collaborative research project among IIT, China Rehabilitation Research Center (CRRC), Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) and Schwab Rehabilitation Center in Chicago. The purpose of the study is to examine the cultural difference in attribution styles between Chinese and Americans and their respective influences on acceptance of disability with controlling for physical functions, social support, and depression. The relationships between attribution style, self-esteem, and acceptance of disability are also studied.
