I. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.
2. 5. Science Electives - A minimum of thirteen (13) hours is required to fulfill this requirement. At least one natural science or engineering elective must be in a field other than physics. An Applied Mathematics major should complete PHY 235 and additional courses chosen from the following to total 13 credit hours: BIOL 101, 102, 104, 106, 109, 110, 113, 114, 115, 116, 119, 121, 122; BOTANY 201, 202; CHEM 105, 121, 122, 201, 203, 212; MICRO 119, 233, 234; PHYS 236, 237; or ZOOL 211, 212, 216.
