I. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.
- Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.
- Humanities - Choose one course from the following: ENG 223, 225, 226, 227, 228, 229, 241, 243, 244, 246; HST 121, 122, 123, 124, 221, 222, 223; HUM 121, 122, 221; or PHI 121, 123, 125, 126, 221.
- Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 121, 221, 224, 228; ECO 110, 221, 222, 223, 224, 225; GEG 122, 123, 223; PSC 121, 122, 221, 222, 223; PSY 121, 122, 129, 221, 222, 223, 224, 225, 226; or SOC 121, 222, 223, 224, 225.
- Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ARC 228; ART 121, 240, 241, 242, 260; ENG 128, 129, 222, 224, 247, 263, 264; HST 126, 127, 129, 225, 240, 241; HUM 123, 125, 127, 128, 222, 223, 226; MUS 124, 140, 224; PHI 129; or THE 121.
- Science Electives - A minimum of thirteen (13) hours is required to fulfill this requirement. An Applied Mathematics major should complete PHYS 123 and additional courses chosen from the following to total 13 credit hours: BIO 120, 121, 122, 124, 125, 127, 140, 221, 222, 224, 225; CHM 120, 121, 123, 125; PHY 124, 221.
