I. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.
- Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.
- Humanities - Choose one course from the following: ENG 103, 104, 111, 202, 203, 204, 206, 207; HIS 109, 110, 203, 204; HFA 201, 202; HUM 161, 210; or PHL 101, 102, 103.
- Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 101; ECO 201, 202; GEO 103, 104; PSC 101, 102, 108, 210; PSY 101, 103, 105, 202, 204, 205, 206, 211, 212, 220; SSS 101; SOC 101, 102, 110, 204, 205, 206, 225; or URB 101, 214.
- Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 105, 106, 107, 218, 219, 221; DRM 151, 152, 155; ENG 102, 113, 123, 124, 208; HIS 101, 151, 271; HFA 107, 120, 158, 203, 210; HUM 205, 206; MUS 115; or URB 141.
- Science Electives for Computer Science majors - A minimum of fourteen (14) credit hours is required to fulfill this requirement. At least one natural science or engineering elective must be in a field other than physics. A CS major should complete PHYS 210 and 211 and two additional courses chosen from the following to total 14 credit hours: AST 101; BIO 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 115, 152, 185; or CHE 111, 113, 114, 205.
