The research in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) lab
at IIT is focused in studying brain function, brain structure,
and integrity of neural tissue. The lab is involved in: (1)
Building new MRI data acquisition methods to probe various
properties of neural tissue, such as blood oxygenation and
proton diffusion. (2) Developing advanced data-processing
methods to extract important information from the acquired
data. (3) Developing advanced visualization techniques. (4)
Clinical applications in epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, stroke,
traumatic brain injury, and psychiatric disorders.
