Materials Chemistry (Certificate)
Advance in a career in the materials chemistry field by taking graduate-level courses in materials chemistry to complete this certificate program.
The Certificate in Materials Chemistry program is a part-time, online program designed for professionals who wish to broaden their background in synthesis, characterization, and properties of materials and chemical systems. The program combines modern materials design and synthesis strategies with innovative characterization techniques, along with computational and simulation methods.
Three graduate certificate programs are offered in materials chemistry: Synthesis and Characterizations of Inorganic Materials, Synthesis and Characterizations of Organic Materials, and Characterization of Inorganic and Organic Materials.
Coursework from the certificate program may be applied toward a Master of Materials Chemistry with a Concentration in Inorganic, Organic, or Polymeric Materials degree, provided a grade “B” or higher was earned in that particular course. Admission to a master’s program is not guaranteed upon completion of the certificate program.
