Transportation Engineering (M.ENG.)
Illinois Tech’s Master of Engineering in Transportation Engineering is a course-only, professionally oriented degree program that provides students with analytical, problem-solving, and management skills to excel within the field. This program will prepare students to become qualified transportation planners, traffic engineers, and traffic safety engineers.
Coursework includes urban transportation planning, transportation systems management, and systems analysis in civil engineering. Additionally, students will be trained to understand and evaluate the socioeconomic impacts of transportation and infrastructure engineering projects.

No thesis or comprehensive exam is required for completion of this degree.
Admission requirements are the same as outlined in the course bulletin for the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering master of science degree programs.
Each applicant will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis during the application review process to determine any deficiency course requirements.
