A strong core of artificial intelligence in the Department of Computer Science is faculty researchers covering diverse areas that encompass both foundational and application-oriented approaches to artificial intelligence, which creates research opportunities in machine learning, computer vision, social network analysis, natural language processing, explainable AI, and robustness.
Regular collaborations on interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary projects with other computer science faculty and researchers from other departments, such as applied mathematics, chemical engineering, and biomedical engineering, as well as other universities create a wider variety of research opportunities.
Opportunities to get involved in exciting research projects are provided through two focused degrees in AI—Bachelor of Science in AI and Master of AI. The Master of Data Science program, offered jointly with the Department of Applied Mathematics, opens more research spaces.
