Chris Winnie

Chris Winnie is a licensed mechanical engineer with over seven years of design experience. His passion for designing innovative solutions is reflective in all of his projects. Mr. Winnie has a thorough understanding of plumbing and HVAC design, and he specializes in high-performance systems that are energy efficient. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering, Mr. Winnie started his career at a mechanical engineer consulting firm where his focus was primarily on HVAC and plumbing design for commercial, retail, and multi-family residential market sectors in over 36 states. Upon joining SmithGroup as a Mechanical Engineer, his responsibilities encompass plumbing and HVAC design; mentoring of junior engineers; surveying; punch-lists; and hands-on project management for higher education, health, workplace, and science and technology clients. He is experienced in designing various systems within a multitude of project types. Such systems include compressed air, dental air, laboratory vacuum, dental vacuum, natural gas, sanitary, storm, sub soil drain-tile, potable water, water heating, water recirculation, and purified water systems and their distribution. He also is an active member of Toastmasters International, demonstrating his skills as an experienced communicator and public speaker.
