Gabriel Martinez-Rekitzke

Gabriel (Gabe) Martinez-Rekitzke advises students in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering.

Martinez-Rekitzke was born and raised in the Southside of Chicago and is excited to be back in his hometown to help advise a new generation of Illinois Tech engineering students. He graduated from Valparaiso University with his B.S. in mechanical engineering and Spanish and recently graduated from Northwestern University with his M.S. in higher education administration and policy. He brings experience from various fields in higher education like diversity, equity, and inclusion; residential life; student life; and fraternity and sorority life. He plans to combine his degrees to build advising programs that provide engineering students the access and resources they need to be successful during and after college! 

When he's not advising students, he enjoys reading mystery books, finding new music, playing video games, and spending time with his wife and two dogs!
