Research Interests
In addition to teaching for INTM, Coates is also Training Fund Administrator for the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 399 in Chicago. He has significant experience in facility maintenance, and has instructed at several community colleges and universities in HVAC, Electrical Maintenance, Controls and Facilities Management. He was previously Regional Chief Engineer for Jones Lang LaSalle, and held other positions in manufacturing, and as a supervising maintenance engineer prior to that. He is also a licensed electrical contractor and supervising electrician in the City of Chicago, and a licensed Stationary Engineer, as well as an OSHA General Industry Instructor
