Illinois Tech's emergency operations are guided by the National Incident Management System (NIMS), established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). NIMS provides a framework that facilitates effective collaboration among federal, state, local, and private sector entities, as well as non-governmental organizations, to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
FEMA's free online training courses enable individuals to learn at their own pace, gaining essential knowledge and skills crucial for efficient incident response and management, thereby enhancing preparedness and resilience within communities.
It is encouraged that Illinois Tech members of the emergency operations teams partake in this online course. Listed below you can find steps on how to get stared and recommended courses.
