Be the Healing Conference will address topics of systemic racism, trauma, and healing with a cross-sector of approximately 350 educators, social workers, housing advocates, health professionals, community activists, and community members that work with children and families in Chicago.

This training is designed to enable participants to develop a knowledge base and critical awareness of issues specifically impacting children and youth of color and their families and the skill set to address situations at home, work, school, in community settings, and within different institutions.

World-renowned content expert, Dr. Joy DeGruy, will present on intergenerational and historical trauma, mental health and improvement strategies through an inspirational and solution-oriented lens. Chicago experts will conduct breakout sessions to address Structural Systems that Perpetuate Oppression and TraumaOppression and Trauma from a Cultural Lens: Native/Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, African American, and Caucasian, and Reflection/Planning session to help cultivate ideas of healing among peers. Register here.
