ABSTRACT

Numerous opportunities exist for the improvement of pharmaceutical product quality and process efficiency. Through case studies, the speaker will demonstrate such opportunities for tableting, fluid-bed processing and continuous manufacturing of transdermal drug delivery systems. Recommendations for clinically relevant specifications offer further prospects for improving the performance of pharmaceutical products. New analytical and processing technologies coupled with a modern philosophy (Quality by Design) offer the pharmaceutical industry the capability to implement efficient manufacturing with the necessary automation and control to improve the profitability of the pharmaceutical industry.
