Description

Society has asked for an increasing emphasis on ethics in the life sciences in recent decades. Biologists and biology students are called upon to behave ethically, and they're being asked to understand what constitutes ethical behavior. In this talk, Howard will explore some of what constitutes ethics as it plays out in the world of biology research and teaching. He will report on some research underway here at Illinois Tech regarding the development of codes of ethics. Then will call on audience members to discuss what you think about some ethical case studies, some of which are hypothetical and others of which are historical.
