Family Weekend is an event that takes place each fall at the Illinois Institute of Technology and is open to all IIT families, faculty & staff. It is a time for our entire IIT community to partake in the same spirit that embraces our students on campus throughout the academic year!

Saturday, October 18
The 10th Annual Pumpkin Launch
1 - 2:30 p.m.
The 10th Annual IIT Pumpkin Launch will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 on Ed Glancy Baseball Field. Using pumpkin-launching machines they design and build, student teams compete for prizes for distance and accuracy. What sort of designs will win this year’s competition? Catapult, trebuchet, ballista, or something entirely new? You’ll have to be there to find out! After the conclusion of Pumpkin Launch IIT's Residence Hall Association will be hosting pumpkin carving.
Ripon College vs. Illinois Tech Men’s and Women's Soccer Game

Let’s go Scarlet Hawks! Come and cheer on our men’s and women's soccer team as it takes on the Ripon College Red Hawks!
Chicago Architecture Foundation: Open House Chicago
October 18-19
Open House Chicago is a free public festival that offers behind-the-scenes access to 150 buildings across Chicago. This year Carr Chapel, McCormick Tribune Campus Center, and Crown Hall will be a few of the featured buildings. To learn more about Open House Chicago visit their website at www.openhousechicago.org.

Family Brunch
11:30 a.m. - 1p.m
Join us for brunch on Sunday morning in The Commons, located in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center.
