Fit or Fraud

Don’t base your research on somebody else’s fraud! This workshop, hosted by the Paul V. Galvin Library, will help you avoid that pitfall.

The number of scholarly articles retracted for research misconduct has been increasing sharply, as has the number of ‘scholarly’ publishers with little or no quality control or peer review. Basing your research on fraudulent papers can result in your own findings being invalidated, your work being retracted, or worse.

While it’s impossible to identify all questionable research papers, this workshop will show you some tools and strategies to avoid as many as possible.

All workshops will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m. via Blackboard Collaborate Ultra on the following dates:

  • Monday, February 22
  • Monday, March 8
  • Monday, March 22
  • Monday, April 5
  • Monday, April 19
  • Monday, May 3

A link to access the workshop will be sent to you in advance of the session.
