Duey Fimreite

The Department of Food Science and Nutrition will host Duey Fimreite, a research and development manager, for an in-person seminar where Fimreite will discuss his roles/jobs over his 37-year career as a food scientist. 

The seminar will take place in Room 111 of the Robert A. Pritzker Science Center beginning at 12:45 p.m. A light lunch will be served beginning at 12:30 p.m. 

Fimreite is a research and development manager at South Chicago Packing LLC, the largest animal fat processor in the United States. He has more than 35 years of experience in R&D and new product development with multinational CPG companies, multinational ingredient suppliers, and small-to-midsize family run companies. Fimreite has two U.S. patents and a third in progress. He has a food science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and an M.B.A. in entrepreneurship from DePaul University. Besides his passion for food science, you will find Fimreite playing golf, cheering for the Wisconsin Badgers, supporting local artists, and talking stock investing and the importance of financial literacy.
