Description

The Great Lakes of today are not what they were in the past. But what does science tell us about these environmental threats, and what can we do about it in the future. We will discuss the impending threat of Asian Carp and other invasive species, potential impacts of climate change (including last year's polar vortex), and local attempts at habitat restoration. Beyond the scope of traditional research tools, Shedd Aquarium is exploring the possibilities of using ROVs, smartphone apps, and maybe even drones in future conservation efforts.
