Description

Our Milky Way galaxy is host to a variety of astrophysical objects capable of accelerating particles to TeV energies. Kaaret will review how one observes TeV gamma-rays from the ground with an emphasis on the Very Energetic Radiation Imaging Telescope Array System (VERITAS) located in Arizona. They will then discuss how particles are accelerated in astronomical objects and recent results from VERITAS on supernova remnants and pulsar wind nebulae.
