INTM’s 2013 “Outstanding Leader in Industry”, F. Quinn Stepan, Jr. impressed the crowd at the 18th annual Awards Dinner. The President and CEO of Stepan Company spoke candidly about his road to success in the chemical industry. Speaking to a group that included 20 Bachelors of Industrial Technology (BINTM) and Masters of Industrial Operations (MITO) graduates from 2012, he addressed the responsibilities and challenges of running a family business that started out with two employees and a few hundred dollars, and has well over $1 billion in sales worldwide today. Stepan also reflected on the value of continuing education, and showed his support with a generous contribution to the Keith E. McKee Scholarship Fund for students in the INTM program. The event was a tremendous success, thanks to IIT, the School of Applied Technology, and INTM’s many wonderful faculty, staff, business partners, and friends.
