Please join the Institute of Design in welcoming Mohamed Abdel-Kader, chief innovation officer and executive director for the Innovation, Technology, And Research (ITR) Hub at the United States Agency for International Development, hosted by Weslynne Ashton, professor of environmental management and sustainability and co-director of the Food Systems Action Lab. Abdel-Kader will lead a presentation and discussion on “Innovation, Technology, and Research: Opportunities and Challenges to International Development.” This event will take place on Wednesday, October 18, from 1–2 p.m. in Steelcase West of the Ed Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation and Tech Entrepreneurship.

Mohamed Abdel-Kader serves as USAID’s chief innovation officer and executive director of the Innovation, Technology, and Research Hub. In these roles, he oversees various agency mechanisms to promote the application of innovation, technology, and research for greater aid effectiveness within USAID and the inter-agency, and with partners in the international development community, private sector, and civil society.
