The Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research (WISER) will host a symposium on the role of carbon management in creating a pathway to sustainability.

Jonathan Rosenberg, professor of political science and chair of the Department of Social Sciences, will participate in the introductory remarks (8:45–9:20 a.m.) with, "Social Sciences and Sustainability."

At 3:30 p.m., Matt Shapiro, associate professor of political science, will participate in the panel discussion, "'Great Ideas' meet the 'Real World:' The Politics and Policies of Carbon Management." His presentation will be titled "Politicized Communications Regarding Carbon Management: The Hazards of Using Climate Change as a Policy-Making Frame."
