Speaker
Jahmal Cole, Founder of My Block, My Hood, My City (Bio)
Overview
As aspiring leaders look around the world and ask how they can make a difference they often feel overwhelmed by the scope of the challenges we as a global community are facing. Jahmal Cole took a different route, instead he asked: “What is something simple I can do that will have a positive impact on my block?”.
Now the founder of the growing community organization, My Block, My Hood, My City (M3), Jahmal Cole has spent years building a following of engaged Chicagoans who are dedicated to the idea of building a city where youth from historically under-resourced communities look at their future with hope – that change started with a vision but has been sustained through committed followership.
At this Seminar, attendees will hear about Mr. Cole’s journey, how he created his vision for M3, and how he has lea an organization that has facilitated real change in Chicago. Additionally, attendees will be given the opportunity for a question and answer session with Mr. Cole about what it is like leading on the ground in 2020. Following the Q&A, attendees will be tasked with applying the lessons learned and thinking about how they can begin to make change and lead within their communities.
