Description

The liquid argon time projection chamber (LArTPC) is a detection technique that provides three-dimensional imaging of charged particle interactions with fine spatial resolution, ideal for the study of neutrino interactions and searches for rare phenomena such as proton decay. In this talk, I will discuss the recent R&D effort for LArTPC at Fermilab and the latest neutrino cross section results from ArgoNeuT, which was the first LArTPC placed in a neutrino beam in the US. I will also discuss the prospects for this technique in current and future experiments such as MicroBooNE and LBNE.
