Since 2012 he's been employed as a social scientist with The Nature Conservancy (TNC).

TNC is an international nonprofit organization working to address "the most pressing conservation threats at the largest scale." TNC has operated for 65 years, has more than 1 million members, employs more than 600 scientists, and does work in 72 different countries. Leander has worked on a wide range of important sustainability related projects and is especially motivated to expand the social responsibility of conservation to traditionally underrepresented groups.
