Understanding Project Management

Project management is the discipline of driving projects from conception through planning and execution and on to successful completion. Unique and critical time-boxed work efforts are often performed intuitively. This primer will provide a detailed summary of the PMI framework for project management and highlight common challenges and current trends. The discipline is applicable across industries.

PMI Chicagoland Chapter -- Advancing the project management profession. The PMI Chicagoland Chapter is proud to be one of the largest and most well established local networks of project management professionals in the United States. The Chicagoland Chapter was chartered in 1977 and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The chapter has over 4,500 members and over 200 volunteers. It is one of the most active chapters in the Project Management Institute, with over 70 events and programs every year.
