Experience the Galvin Tower
The east lobby of Michael Paul Galvin Tower is home to Illinois Tech’s first physical-digital interactive experience. As an institution that cares deeply about advancing innovation through the power of our collective difference, we invite you to explore the Illinois Tech difference—and add your own—through experiential touchpoints designed just for you.
The Motion Wall
Use movement to explore a wall of screens that animate around you, featuring headlines and other content about Illinois Tech, Motorola, and the Galvin family.
You can also peruse the Galvin family history through our physical collection of Motorola technology and family heirlooms showcased in the wall.
The Touchscreen Experience
Large touchscreens on the pillars in the east lobby offer visitors a way to add their story to the collective difference of Illinois Tech—complete with their names, interests, and places of origin. Circa 1890, Frank Wakeley Gunsaulus called for the creation of an institution—which became Illinois Tech—with his “Million Dollar Sermon.” Now, Illinois Tech is calling for a million stories. Add your story at the touchscreen experience, and you may even see it come to life in other places around the lobby!
The Window Projections
The community is always welcome at Michael Paul Galvin Tower, and the glow of our window projection wall in the evening hours engages even those passing by the building’s exterior. A selection of Illinois Tech photos and live data collected at the touchscreen experience is reflected onto the glass.
