The Academic Year 2024-2025 housing application is closed online, but rooms are still available. To access housing for Fall Only 2024 or the full Academic 2024-2025 year (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025), students must complete the Academic Year 2024-2025 housing application on paper. To begin this process, students should email housing@iit.edu to schedule an appointment for both a room consultation (to review current available inventory) and contract signing with the Office of Residence Life, located in the McCormick Student Village (MSV) building at 3241 S Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60616. Please review the housing rates and rooming options before the appointment. All students living in Illinois Tech residence halls must have a minimum meal plan.
The Spring Only 2025 housing application is now open. This application is for students looking to secure housing on the Illinois Tech campus for the Spring 2025 semester only. To access the Spring Only 2025 housing application, please click here and log in to the StarRez Housing portal (with the Student SSO option) using your Illinois Tech username and password. Please note that the Spring Only 2025 housing application does require a $600 prepayment that is nonrefundable should a student choose to cancel.
Please note that Illinois Tech is currently at high occupancy, all room types are subject to availability, and student preferences will be met whenever possible, but not guaranteed during manual placement for the Spring 2025.

Important Housing Dates
October 6, 2024 - Last day for Fall 2024 Only housing and meal plan contract conversion requests.
October 7, 2024 - Students responsible for 100% of Fall 2024 housing and meal contract.
October 25, 2024 - Last day for Room Buyout (Students with no roommate/vacancies in their rooms looking to create a single out of a double)
December 1, 2024 - Last day for students without a Spring 2025 room and meal plan reservation to request a Late Departure beyond their applicable departure date at a cost of $45 per day.
December 1, through December 9, 2024 - 24 hours quiet hours in the residence halls.
December 7, 2024 - Last day of Fall 2024 Meal Plan usage. Commons only, brunch 8:30AM-1:45PM and dinner 4:30PM-7PM. Food service does not resume until January 8, 2025.
December 8, 2024 12PM noon - Fall 2024 semester housing contract ends. Students with a Spring 2025 housing and meal plan contract may continue to reside in residence halls over winter break with no additional cost. Students who are Fall 2024 only (no Spring 2025 reservation) must vacate their rooms by 12PM noon on this day or be granted a Late Departure at the cost of $45 per day.
December 15, 2024 12PM noon - Students graduating in the Fall 2024 semester may stay in their rooms no additional cost until 12PM noon on this day. Graduating students (no Spring 2025 reservation) must vacate their rooms by 12PM noon on this day or be granted a Late Departure at the cost of $45 per day.
December 23, 2024 through January 1, 2025 - The Office of Residence Life (ORL) is closed. Community Desk Assistants (CDAs), Residential Advisors (RAs) and Professional Staff on call (PSOC) available 24/7 through CDA desks. ORL will reopen January 2nd, 2025.
December 28, 2024 - Spring 2025 students who applied for and were granted an Early Arrival may begin to move into housing for the Spring 2025 semester at the cost of $45 per day. Students may be directed to temporary housing pending the immediate availability of their Spring 2025 housing upon early arrivals.
January 6, 2025 - Spring 2025 housing contract begins. Students may move in beginning this day at no additional cost.
January 8, 2025 - Spring 2025 meal plans begin in Commons. Breakfast 7:30AM-9:30AM, lunch 11AM-2PM, dinner 4:30PM-7PM.
Students graduating in Fall 2024
Students graduating in Fall 2024 may request to stay in their residence hall rooms until December 15, 2024 at noon (to allow them to participate in degree conferral) at no additional charge by completing a Late Departure Request. Students not returning to the residence halls for Spring 2025 may also request a late departure by completing a Late Departure Request. Please note that for students who do not have a Spring 2025 housing contract and wish to stay in their room beyond the end of the Fall 2024 housing contract date (12/08/2024 at noon), or students who are graduating and wish to stay in their room past the graduation departure date (12/15/2024 at noon) there will be a $45 per day charge. Student may be asked to move to a temporary room depending on the length of stay requested, and requests spanning beyond 12/21/2024 may not be approved, subject to availability. The submission date for late departure requests is 12/01/2024.
