Residential Meal Plan Requirements

  • All students living on-campus in our residence halls must hold a meal plan according to their eligibility.
  • Please note that students MUST select a meal plan before the start of classes or risk being defaulted to the highest meal plan available (All Access). Students with a full academic year contract (Fall & Spring 2024-2025) will have the same meal plan for both semesters, except if an eligible change is requested and approved. Please send all meal plan change requests to housing@iit.edu.
  • First- and second-year undergraduate students living on campus are required to have the All-Access meal plan or the Flex 300 meal plan, regardless of what building they live in.
  • Other undergraduate and graduate residents living in units without an in-unit kitchen are required to have a minimum of the Block 230 meal plan. Access to a community kitchen does not meet the standard of an in-unit kitchen.
  • Residents with in-unit kitchens must select at least the Block 50 meal plan but may select higher meal plans if they choose.
  • All Fall 2024 meal swipes and meal exchanges expire 12/06/2024 in the Commons after dinner service.
  • Students may request an increase in meal plan at any time during the semester.
  • Students may only request a decrease in meal plan within the eligibility of their class status and room type up until the August 31, 2024.
  • Illinois Tech and the Office of Residence Life reserve the right to change meal plans in order to comply with the requirements listed above.

Commuter Meal Plan

Commuter students not living in the residence halls may select any meal plan. To add a meal plan, send commuter meal plan requests to housing@iit.edu. Please specify which semester (Fall or Spring) the meal plan should be added to. Please note that bonus points only roll over from Fall to Spring with a continuous meal plan during both semesters in place.
