Ashton Published in Journal of Cleaner Production

“Pathways to Cleaner Production in the Americas I: Bridging Industry-Academia Gaps in the Transition to Sustainability,” by Weslynne Ashton, Assistant Professor of Environmental Management and Sustainability, has been published in the Journal of Cleaner Production. The Pathways to Cleaner Production in the Americas project was a multinational effort aimed at facilitating the transition to sustainability in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) by addressing low demand for environmentally-benign industrial development strategies and a limited supply of professionals to enact the strategies. In the paper, Ashton and her co-authors share valuable lessons from the project model, which can be more widely adopted to facilitate industry-academic engagement in the transition to sustainability in LAC and other parts of the world. Co-authors include Nasrin Khalili, Associate Professor of Environmental Management and M. Hurtado (MPA ‘14), along with Nada Anid, Marta Panero, and S. McPherson.
