Drive System Research Heralds Future of Vehicle Motor Technology

Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Ian Brown has received funding from the United States Department of Energy to participate in a consortium of 10 universities and four national laboratories working to advance electric drive technologies. He and his team of graduate student researchers at Armour College of Engineering are exploring the design, optimization, and control of an electric traction motor that may one day replace an internal combustion engine.
